    Membership payment plans:

Memberships can either be paid in full by December 1, 2006 to have your child's name entered in a draw for a Pony Club garment (hat, sweatshirt, etc.)
Payment Plan: returning or new members can opt to pay for their 2007 membership by paying in several payments until the registration fee is paid in full. There are several conditions than need to be met in order for the Payment Plan to be selected:

  • A MINIMUM OF $105.00 must be paid by December 1, 2005 to ensure that your child is properly insured. We cannot recognize your child as a full member without insurance, and cannot allow your child to participate in activities which involve handling our horses.
  • Post-dated cheques are required if payment plan is selected, with final payment no later than February 1, 2007.
  • If you have your 2007 registration paid in full by December 1, 2006, your name will be added to the draw for the Pony Club garment.

If your child joins the Fredericton Pony Club later than January 1, 2007:

  • The same rates will apply, regardless of the date of registration (during 2007)
  • A minimum of $105.00 must be paid upon registration in order to ensure that your child is insured and has their membership to the Canadian Pony Club.
  • The balance ($105.00) must be paid within 3 months of the date of registration. We would appreciate a post-dated cheque to cover the balance if possible.

    What other costs are involved?

You will need to borrow or purchase the following items for your child in order for them to be properly equipped to work around (and ride) horses:

  • An approved riding helmet (new ones cost anywhere between $30.00 - $100.00, but we can arrange for your child to borrow one if needed until one is purchased).
  • Boots with a low heel (rubber boots are fine). Hard-toed boots are safest if you have them. Sneakers are acceptable for "barn days" but are not permitted while on the horse.
  • Fitted pants or leggings (jeans are not a good choice to ride a horse as they will rub the inside of the leg - may leave blisters).

    Riding Clinics

The Fredericton Pony Club organizes regular (approximately one/month) riding clinics for members at local riding stables. Because we rent their horses, facilities, arenas and hire their coaches, there is an additional cost for these clinics. The clinics are based on a "pay-as-you-go" system, meaning that you only pay for the clinics you attend. This is a very economical way to take riding lessons, and the option is yours to take more (or less) lessons according to your needs and budget. Registration for these clinics varies depending on what is being taught and the location of the clinic, but ranges from $25.00 - $45.00 per rider.

Please note: Fees are not returned unless unexpected medical or other extraordinary circumstances occur. The Fredericton Pony Club's continuing successful operation is dependent on the fees of its membership. Membership is a year-long committment!
